Everybody Loves MOD!
MOD's food is better than MOM's food. Sometimes my wife and I go to MOD for the delicious food. Sometimes we go for the delightful company. But we ALWAYS leave happy!

Going to eat anytime at MOD was like going in to a wonderful kitchen in a home. The atmosphere was friendly, warm, great food, beautifully presented. This is a big loss to Catskill and a win win for Hudson. What can I say about Mary and Dana. Great business women and good, good friends.

Mary and Dana were pioneers in Catskill, NY’s brave comeback. Their cheery restaurant MOD reflected their spirit, busy, upbeat and centered on wholesome food. Catskill misses them but they haven’t gone far. The tenacious duo is opening a restaurant/bar just across the river in Hudson. In their usual style, working with their bare hands, they have created a dining experience that has the elegance of the 1920’s while pouring their love into in an older, corner building just moments from the train. It’s no surprised that they will be serving comfort food. MOD II, here we come!

"Good Food and Good Friends" is what we found when we were told to try the MOD after moving here 5 years ago. Each visit whether for lunch or then for the wonderful "Catskill Stroll" Saturday night meals we were rewarded. Never could decide which meal was our favorite. They were all Favorites once we took a bite. And each meal was like eating with family, because that's what Mary and Dana are to us. Can't wait for this next chapter to begin.

We were frequent diners at MOD in Catskill, and can't wait for the Hudson opening. The fact that food was creative, fresh, well-prepared and delicious did not justify our many, many visits. You will never regret taking time off from your hectic life to visit and enjoy the MOD Gournet Cafe. Dana and Mary and staff are experts at making you feel pampered and satisfied. The cuisine is totally homemade and absolutely wonderful. Creative soups and salads are always delightful, and the sandwich menu is chock full of great combinations of fresh and delicious ingredients. Desserts will convince you to abandon your diet. We love this place!!!

I liked MOD before it even opened its doors. I happened to begin a project in Catskill and would stalk by the place as it was still putting on its finishing touches. It was already inviting. And I was there the morning it opened for business, and met two of the most enthusiastic and wonderful people. Mary and Dana. Had a cappuccino and some breakfast, and the rest was history. I proceeded to eat there almost every single day for the next three months. And told everyone I know to go there.
What I know about Mary and Dana, is that they make every one who walks through the door feel like the mayor. They are as warm and inviting as the setting, only to be followed by, of course, the food. MOD is consistent in serving fresh and innovative dishes, producing delicious meals that are truly prepared for you. The presentation qualifies it even further. Mary and Dana have grown and experimented in their cooking and hosting skills in an effort to constantly update and improve. It is that growth and observation that will continue to enhance the dining experience.

Tired of same-old, same-old? Try MOD Hudson, where the atmosphere is welcoming, the food wholesome and delicious, and beverages (including beer and wine) flow. The atmosphere is so friendly because of their carefully chosen staff and, of course, the two charming owners, Mary DiStefano and Dana Wegener, a partnership made in Heaven. They already have many friends on the Catskill side of the river as well as the Hudson side, but hope to make many more Hudson friends now that they've moved their business across the river. Go to their MOD Hudson website and become a friend, then come to the restaurant at the corner of Union and Front Street and you will immediately want to be a "real life" friend of theirs.
